How to Become a Successful Investigative Journalist? – The School of Journalism visited the Faculty of Law
We believe that good journalism is a driver of positive change. That is why we actively invest in the future of media and young people through our “School for Journalists” initiative.
Through this program, we had the honor of being part of an inspiring event at the Faculty of Law at UKIM. Together with Professor Dr. Jasna Bachovska Nedikj, we organized a lecture for students interested in communications and journalism, with a focus on investigative journalism as a key tool for real social change.

Our guest was Irena Mulachka, journalist and editor-in-chief of the weekly magazine “Focus,” winner of eight awards for investigative journalism. She shared with the students experiences from her 17-year career – real challenges, personal lessons, and advice that cannot be found in any textbook.
“A journalist must be persistent, invest in their knowledge, and most importantly, never lose trust,” Irena emphasized. She spoke about the value of personal connection, the principles of credibility and integrity, and what it truly means to be a journalist who makes a difference.
The students listened, asked questions, and reflected. And we were once again convinced that there is hope for this profession.
On this occasion, Professor Bachovska Nedikj proudly remarked: “These students are special – ambitious, focused, and with a clear vision. Events like these are a chance for them to connect with the real world and build their careers responsibly and with passion.”
At ProCredit Bank, we are committed to giving young journalists space, knowledge, and support – because journalism matters to us, and young people matter even more. That is why we continue with initiatives for social responsibility and sustainable development through our support for journalism.
